While the Judge in the lawsuit between Ripple Labs and the SECย continues to wait for a ruling from the US Southern District Court of New York, the XRP community has started circulating rumors that the Judge in charge, Analisa Torres, is a member of the “deep state.”
Because of this, proponents of the theory anticipate that Ripple will be unsuccessful against the SEC.
Nevertheless, noted XRP community lawyer John E. Deaton, who has filed an amicus brief on behalf of 75,000 XRP investors, adamantly disputes (1) this theory. Ripple and XRP, in his opinion, are “fortunate” to have Judge Torres on their side.
People are reading this entirely wrong. People read that Judge Torres dismissed the case ๐ two guards who falsified records related to Epstein and then make the crazy leap that Judge Torres is part of the deep state and will thus decide in favor of the SEC. Absolutely not true. https://t.co/ZXkkS4zycM

Speculations Regarding the Appointment of Judge Torres to the Ripple Case
One of the most prominent Twitter accounts in the XRP community, which has 141,000 followers, is the one that disseminated the claim that Judge Torres is a member of the “deep state.”
He stated in his writing that Ripple’s action against the SEC would be unsuccessful because Judge Torres is purportedly a member of an exclusive group known as the deep state.
The fact that a case against two prison officers who acknowledged manipulating data on the evening of Jeffery Epstein’s death was dropped (2) by Judge Torres is the purported proof of this.
To provide some background, Epstein was an American investment manager who was arrested in 2019 and accused of many charges of rape against minors, as well as sex trafficking and people smuggling. He was accused of assaulting scores of girls and sending them to his wealthy pals, who then sexually abused them.
On the 10th of August 2019, Epstein’s body was discovered inside his cell in New York. The authorities are under the impression that he killed himself.
On the other hand, due to the absence of surveillance cameras and the fabrication of documents, it is hypothesized that Epstein was killed in order to keep the secrets of prominent persons in the government safe.
Deaton said that individuals are interpreting the ruling incorrectly. Judge Torres discharged the case against the two security officers for purely procedural reasons.
“People are completely misinterpreting what is being said. People are reading that Judge Torres dropped the suit against two guards who misappropriated evidence relating to Epstein, and then they end up making the speculation that Judge Torres is part of the deep state, so he will decide in favor of the SEC. This is a fallacy, but people continue to believe it because they read it. I couldn’t be more wrong,” Deaton retorted.
She dismissed the complaint following an agreement “after prosecutors declared in a file last weeks that the officers completed delayed prosecution,” the attorney claims.
Contrary to what the rumor claims, the Judge did not dismiss the case outright, as the rumor implies she did. Deaton continued, saying, “Judge Torres was a great pick for us.”
At the time of this writing, one XRP was worth $0.36599 USD. Because of this, the price broke below the significant support level of $0.3708, which led to further losses.
