Minecraft’s Creator Mojang: Would Not Enable NFT integration

The Sandbox computer game Minecraft’s creator, Mojang Studios, has declared that it would not enable NFT integration.

The studio warned that players who purchase third-party NFTs risk losing money because some of them can be untrustworthy.

A special kind of encrypted token representing one-of-a-kind collectibles is a non-fungible token (NFT). Specific applications, such as online gaming, digital collectibles, and encrypted art all call for the deployment of an NFT.

However, when NFTs are sold at inflated or fictitiously high prices, the speculative pricing or investing mindset of NFTs can impact the gaming experience.

Blockchain technologies cannot be incorporated inside our Minecraft client or server apps, nor may they be used to build NFTs related to any in-game content, like worlds, skin, personality items, or other mods, according to the official announcement.

The business added that the introduction of NFTs violates the values of imaginative inclusion and cooperative play in Minecraft.

Physical asset tokenization will produce a gap between the rich and the poor in the game because NFTs are irreplaceable and distinctive, which departs from the initial goal of establishing a comfortable entertainment atmosphere for game users.

Based on future advancements in blockchain technology, the business said it would decide whether to participate in offering a more secure gaming experience or other useful and inclusive gaming applications, as appropriate. Blockchain technology is not, however, currently being incorporated into Minecraft.
